Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Director in the Financial Aid department. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid Systems provides IT application analysis and support for the TMCC Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Student Employment department using PeopleSoft and other software products to process financial aid. The incumbent will manage and run all technical processes which support the administration of financial aid awards and disbursements. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid Systems will have day-to-day responsibilities ensuring that all financial aid and scholarship systems, supporting technology, and ancillary software with connections to the financial aid scholarship systems are strategically optimized, operational, effective, compliant, and up to date.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Master's degree from an accredited institution in a related field and two years of related professional experience OR

Bachelor's degree and four years of related professional experience OR

Associates degree and six years of related professional experience OR

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in higher education student services or relevant functional analyst experience
2. Experience with student information system PeopleSoft.

3. Knowledge of financial aid policies and programs including financial aid issues
4. Research skills in support of the development of policy and procedures

5. Ability to anticipate issues and the consequences of decisions/ actions

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director is responsible for all the technical needs of the Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Student Employment department which include analysis, evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation and maintenance of computer system applications. Additionally, the Assistant Director will serve as the liaison between the Office of Information of Technology and Nevada's System of Higher Education System Computing Services. The ideal candidate must independently assess complex issues and implement functional solutions to the financial aid process.

The Assistant Director will provide technical training to the financial aid staff, and others as needed, and will assist with the quality assurance and management of audit queries to monitor staff accuracy and efficiency. The Assistant Director will provide financial aid counseling to students, provide financial aid outreach as needed including evenings and weekend work, and other duties assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.

Salary and Benefits Information:

Salary: $79,214 - $99,018 initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience.
