POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for coordinating and reporting all financial aid compliance activities for the College and is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the College's financial aid compliance program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain the College's financial aid compliance program in accordance with current regulatory guidelines and direction from federal, state and other entities. Stay abreast of legislative changes impacting the College and assist the Director in partnering with other institutional departments to respond to pending legislation that impacts the Office of Financial Aid or the College, including identifying regulatory changes and assuring timely updates of institutional procedures to ensure compliance.
Maintain an ongoing regulatory training program to ensure regulatory awareness and operational effectiveness. Maintain financial aid operational and communication calendar to ensure timely reporting. Manage a risk-based quality control program that provides continuous monitoring of the College's financial aid performance to ensure compliance with regulatory compliance procedures. This includes transaction testing, reporting, deficiency tracking and remediation. Develop and implement financial aid coordination at extended campuses that is efficient and effective for the student. Serve as coordinator of the office workflows for file processing, scanning, year-end and preparation and planning for upcoming fiscal year.
Serve as a member of the SAP and IRP appeal committees. Monitor EDAmerica Call Center for quality assurance and serve as the initial contact for referrals and escalations. Identify and recommend process improvements within the financial aid office to increase student success, improve department efficiencies, reduce costs and streamline/simplify financial aid processes for students. Develop and maintain the College's financial aid guide published on the College's website and distributed to high school guidance counselors and other high school staff.
Serve as the coordinator of financial aid outreach, including scheduling staff for events and workshops, developing office-sponsored events and ensuring that information on the financial aid webpage is up to date. Evaluate and resolve issues involving financial aid recipients who appear on the College's semester purge report to ensure accuracy of the report and any pending action. Act to address any system issues associated with the report and pending action. Serve as backup to the co-Assistant Director of Financial Aid, as needed but particularly with professional judgement and dependency overrides. Supervise and train of assigned office personnel, technical clerks, temporary employees and student workers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in a financial aid office or at least one (1) year of experience in a financial aid office with sufficient NASFAA credentials to demonstrate required knowledge
Experience using federal EDE software processing websites and other financial aid related software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, counseling or computer related field
NASFAA credentials
Prior experience using BANNER and SLATE
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to accurately and thoroughly document, record and maintain data. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills necessary to complete tasks in a timely manner. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Critical thinking skills to identify the underlying principles, motivations, reasons or facts by breaking down information or data into separate parts. Knowledge of regulations governing the administration of federal and state financial aid. Proficient MSOffice skills, including PowerPoint or other presentation software.

Rate of Pay: $45,496 to $56,870 annually, depending on experience
